Excerpt from January 20, 2022 blog entry:
'Standing alone at night in the winter woods is a spiritual thing
but doesn’t require much for faith other than a good pair of boots.
It may be directly under the forest canopy,
or could be just off an old cabin set of steps,
tea held tight by mitted hands,
steam dancing the edges of a cold nose and lip.
Remembering hot blood in the body.'
You can read the entire piece HERE.
This piece was inspired by a moonlit cabin evening in the backcountry here in Montana right around the winter solstice. It is an ode to the wintry magic of moonshine glittering on snow, and a piece honoring the magic of the moon, our feminine celestial ruler.
Opera length pattern chain necklace carries a GORGEOUS drop stone, what I believe to be Clear Crystal Quartz holding some pink and peachy toned lace agate. I've adorned the piece with 14k Gold Fill, and a backplate hand-pierced with three pine tree silhouettes. The moon is a teeny 14k Gold Fill accent. The piece is signed on the backplate nestled under the trees.
Pendant measures 45mm long, and 30mm at her widest. Entire necklace hangs at 32" long, including the length of the pendant. Chain part hangs like a 30" necklace.
OOAK for 2022.
