Perhaps creating something is nothing but an act of profound remembrance. - RM Rilke
This piece is an experiment in Sand Casting, Polymer Clay, and textures from an antique coat button and a seashell from Hawaii. Each piece is different, sculpted first with relief prints from the button and the shell, then molded in sand, and cast from scrap in my studio. This silver is in-house recycled and reclaimed from all my previous bad ideas, scrap piles, and melted projects gone awry. It was cathartic to melt these into a Hawaiian motif, if not even a little poetic. Let bygones be bygones, light the rest on fire. Onward!
Necklace is strung on antique African beads in the most awesome apple green! This necklace measures 18" with a 2" extender. My signature is hammered into the back of the pendant, which weighs just around a half ounce of silver! Pendant measures 1" at her widest, 1 1/2" at her longest from top of 3-ring bail.
OOAK for June 2025. An ode to Hawaiian life, in the best textures I could muster!
