A 100 year old Spruce tree fell from the woods behind our house this week onto our back deck when a wild microburst whipped through town. And the week before, I had finalized the last details of these earrings. Not related by any stroke of conscience, but sometimes these coincidences really make me think. DO we have control of our surroundings as much as we tell ourselves? DO we know some things deep in our bones before they actually happen? DID this tree know she would be immortalized in silver and stone?
A really big ol' tree. A really big ol' set of them for your ears, on moon crescent post earrings and accents of 14k gold fill, rooted with a sugarloaf cut Mexican Turquoise square. OOAK for June 2024.
Earrings measure 3.5" from tip of moon crescent top to bottom of Turquoise stone. They are 1" 1/16" at their widest. These are post earrings with 14k gold jump rings and a halo circle behind. My signature coin is on the backside with a small peekaboo of turquoise stone pierced from the backplate. These earrings are wildly comfortable, light and airy with just a little swing to them, and are not very heavy at all. Very unlike this tree, which will be a brute to get all bucked up!
