It's no wonder the magic of trees, especially in March.
They are laid bare, cold, and tall by the Winter
holding light and small fighters
who rustle in and out of branches.
A small and fluffy Squirrel. A Flicker. A flurry.
Singing the big tree magic in March
like a dance, steps aligning
with the thump thump of my warm heart.

BIG tree magic, in New Lander Variscite! This piece had been drawn, pierced, and laid to rest on my bench, set aside for what seems like a decade. It's funny how some seasons really just require a new lens. And this piece came to fruition after revisiting some poetry I wrote a few years ago around this time. The tree form really didn't do much for me back then, hence her hiatus, and really didn't come to full form until I started rolling my own silver sheet. The textures that came from that chore of recycling my own scraps really brought this to life! The rolling process gave this silver a bit of a raw 'torn' edge, and I tried to keep that texture throughout. I love how this final came to be! Sometimes hanging onto components really just requires time, and a little magic!
Pendant is big, on 3 layers of recycled Sterling Silver, with a lovely green and tan Matrix New Lander Variscite Oval. Hangs 2.5" long from double bail, and just under 1" at her widest. She's hung on a scrumptious thick wheat chain at 16" but I can get you a longer one at request!
OOAK for Spring Equinox 2026.
